Here is the news about our latest release. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay wrote Durgesh Nandini in 1865. It was the first novel in Bengali literature. Bankim Chandra also wrote another novel before this one, Rajmohan's Wife. but this was in English. We are happy to announce that we have brought out the Braille version of Durgesh Nandini. Acclaimed as a historical novel, a genre Bankim Chandra specialised in, this novel is still one of the most popular books in Bengali literature. A strong narrative woven inside a neatly constructed plot, the story has a sustained appeal to the readers. In spite of the presence of historical characters of 16th century Bengal, we remember the story for the celestial love of Ayesha for Jagat Singha. Ayesha's love does not reach the climax the readers want to see. It reigns supreme not for its fulfillment, but for its lack of it, for its endurance and dedication.

Send your order with payment in advance in demand draft or money order. Payment should include INR 20.00 as shipping and handling charge for every three Braille volumes. Processing may take a week or two, subject to number of Braille volumes, postal service etc. We use postage-free service for Braille literature offered by the post offices.
Please do not mention any person's name or designation in the address section on the money order form. Demand drafts should be drawn in favour of Blind Persons' Association payable in any scheduled bank in Kolkata.
